Welcome to the online home of the Velda City, Missouri. Here you can find information on how to take care of traffic citations, get information on city ordinances and keep up with other city news! If you have any questions please contact us!
The Velda City Police Department has received several calls from residents inquiring if the City of Velda City is soliciting donations for the Velda City Police Department Officers Benevolent fund. The City created this fund about 6 months ago in hopes of helping a Velda City Police Officer with financial assistance should they face an on duty injury and they run out of any sick/vacation time. The financial assistance would pay the officers mortgage or purchase groceries for his family to help as they recover from their injuries and hopefully return to work.
The problem is that the City of Velda City has not asked any person and/or company to solicit funds for that cause. Several residents have been called by unknown people saying they are calling on behalf of the City of Velda City or on behalf of the Velda City Police Department seeking donations for this cause. The City of Velda City will graciously accept a donation for this cause, but we have not asked any person or company to solicit funds on our behalf. We want to caution all residents to never give up their name and/or any personal information including credit card or bank account numbers to anyone without being 100% sure of who they are dealing with. To give a donation to the Velda City Police Officers Benevolent Fund, please write a check or money order ( no cash) to: Velda City Police Benevolent Fund. Please drop off or mail to: City of Velda City, 2560 Lucas and Hunt Rd, Velda City, MO 63121.
In addition, several residents have reported becoming victims of Identity Fraud and has had their income tax reported/filed by fraudulent means. If you believe you have become victim to fraud pertaining to your income tax return, please contact the IRS at: 800-908-4490 or at www.IRS.GOV
The City of Velda City and the Velda City Police Department no longer accept cash as a payment method for ANY financial transactions. Effective immediately, only MONEY ORDERS and/or CERTIFIED CHECKS are accepted. (Cash will be accepted at City Hall during court ONLY)
