2013 Tornado Warning Exercise

To increase awareness of the impending severe weather season, the annual statewide "Tornado Warning Exercise" will be conducted on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, around 1:30PM. If weather is inclement anywhere in Missouri, the test will be postponed by the National Weather Service until Thursday, March 7. To check for possible postponement of the drill, call the St. Louis County Police Severe Weather Information Line at 314-628-5420 on March 5th for a recorded update message.

The statewide tornado warning test announcement will be made on the National Weather Service tone-alert "weather radio". The Outdoor Emergency Warning System will also be activated and outdoor warning sirens will be sounded. There is no "all-clear" message broadcast on the tone-alert weather radios nor are outdoor warning sirens sounded for any "all-clear" message.
