Just wanted to update you on Ameren Missouri’s efforts to restore power following this morning’s severe storms. There are currently over 59,000 customers without service, with the most orders reported in the areas of Berkeley, Maryland Heights and Ladue. The majority of the outages have been caused by downed trees, damaged power poles and downed wires. Ameren Missouri field crews, with the help of a drone, are working to assess damage – use of the drone will expedite safe and efficient damage assessment, so that crews can begin to make necessary repairs. When the storm hit this morning, we experienced extreme call volume, which affected our order system, but it has been corrected, and we hope to soon have estimated restoration times to report. Our new outage map, amerenmissouri.com/outages, is experiencing technical difficulty, and we hope to have that updated soon, so customers can check on their outages. In the meantime, they can visit the Ameren Mobile app for outage information by zip code.
As further information, our system is built to meet National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute (EEEI) standards meaning we could sustain wind speed of near 90 mph for structures greater than 60 ft. above ground, and 60 mph for structures shorter than 60 ft. above the ground.

The City of Velda City is looking for a qualified COURT CLERK. This position is full time with benefits. Starting pay is $15 hour with an increase after probationary period. This position requires good communication and computer skills, along with passing a thorough background check. The Court Clerk reports to the Municipal Judge.
Court Clerk job duties and tasks (not all listed):
1. Prepare dockets or calendars of cases to be called, including judges calendar.
2. Record case dispositions, court orders, and arrangements made for payment of fees.
3. Answer inquiries from the public regarding judicial procedures, court appearances, trial dates, adjournments, warrants, summonses, subpoenas, fees, and payment of fines.
4. Prepare and issue orders of the court.
5. Prepare documents recording the outcomes of court proceedings.
6. Instruct parties about timing of court appearances.
7. Explain procedures or forms to parties.
8. Organize and maintains court files, contact witnesses, attorneys, and litigants.
9. Trains new employees as needed.
10. Routinely performs audits of all court documents/procedures to remain in compliance with current rules/laws.
Court Clerk Requirements:
1. Must have at least a high school diploma. College Associates Degree preferred.
2. Must be able to type at least 40-60 words per minute with minimal errors.
3. Must be proficient in math.
4. Must be able to use a computer (including Microsoft Office software), telephone, and calculator.
5. Must be certified in IMDS Plus (REJIS Court software). REQUIRED, NO EXCEPTIONS
6. Must have at least 3 years of municipal court clerk experience. REQUIRED, NO EXCEPTIONS
7. Must be able to read and interpret documents to include the ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English using proper grammar.
8. Be able to travel for training/seminars, etc., which may require overnight stay out of town at times.
9. No felony convictions of any kind. No Class A or B Misdemeanor convictions in at least 15 years. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. No convictions involving theft, fraud, or any other financial related matter. Must pass a drug test.

Prop P is a vital initiative to provide law enforcement with the manpower and resources necessary to keep themselves and county residents safe. The proceeds from the one half of one percent sales would be earmarked for county and municipal law enforcement needs.
Revenues generated by this tax would be shared with each municipality in St. Louis County. The proposed tax would generate approximately $80 million annually.

MSD offers a 50 percent rate reduction to qualified low-income, elderly, and disabled customers.
To qualify for the Customer Assistance Program:
- A customer’s total annual income for the previous year must be less than 200% of the most recent Health & Human Services (HHS) poverty guidelines, based on the size of household. A family of four, for example, must earn less than $49,200 to qualify.
- Disabled citizens and seniors must earn less than 250% of the most recent HHS poverty guidelines, based on size of household. For example, a single senior must earn less than $30,150 to qualify.
- The table below provides further details.
To qualify, a customer must also:
- Have liquid assets and real estate valued at less than $10,000, excluding their residence and automobiles. Homeowners who are older than 62 or disabled individuals are not subject to the liquid asset guideline.
- Own and/or reside as a tenant in the property that receives the rate reduction.
- Own or live in a single-family residence or multi-unit property up to six units.
- Complete an application form and submit it to MSD along with:
- Proof of all income sources for all persons living in your home. If you are self-employed, you will need to provide a copy of your most recent federal tax return.
- Proof of the amount(s) of any liquid assets or real estate, excluding your house of residence and automobile(s).
- Medical certification (if disabled), completed by a physician. The certification must include the physician’s name, address, telephone number, and ID/control number.
- Proof of age by submitting a copy of a valid government-issued identification (driver’s license, state, or military ID).
- Acceptance letter from other Energy Assistance Program such as LIHEAP.
- Copy of rental/lease agreement that states your responsibility for MSD sewer charges (for tenants only).
- Property owner’s notarized statement of tenant residence at the property (for tenants only).
- Once an application is approved, rate reductions begin on the first full month following approval. The rate reduction remains in effect for a period of one year from the date of approval. A renewal application will automatically be sent 60 days prior to expiration date to all applicable customers.
- All applicants with a prior past due balance will need to make payment arrangements with MSD to qualify for the Customer Assistance program.
